A very functional network of buses

Laval citizens can depend on a very efficient public transport system. La Société de transport de Laval (STL) operates 35 so called “regular” lines, with 2 additional lines and 3 express lines during rush hours. Also, the STL is proactive by offering a portal that gives users access to software that brings carpoolers together.

To get to work comfortably all year round

Laval citizens who take the train have access to downtown Montreal in less than 30 minutes; comfortably seated, warm in winter and cool in summer. Two commuter train lines (Blainville–Saint-Jérôme and Deux-Montagnes) provide regular shuttle between Laval and its neighbours.

• STL and Communauto

There exists a winning association between the Société de transport de Laval (STL) and Communauto car sharing service. In the first year, STL effectively covers the annual fees of $37 charged by Communauto to all Laval citizens who purchase an Opus card with a minimum of 8 tickets. Upon renting a car, the car-sharing company offers a $1 reduction on its hourly rate to subscribers. Everyone wins!
