Word from the Mayor
" Our milieu is particularly interesting because it takes into consideration this need for community living, where the person is important. It's a big city but the citizen is not a number. As such, Laval has a multitude of organizations that cater to all groups of our society and answer to the specific needs of the individual. This helps to contribute to the human element of our collectivism. "
Gilles VaillancourtMaire de Laval
Municipal Offices
Each one of the six districts of the city of Laval has its own municipal office which offers personalized assistance to Laval citizens. To properly administer the city, Laval has also put in place no less than 7 administrative units, each being dedicated to a specific domain (environment, finance, citizen protection, human resources, community life, culture and communications, among others).

Libraries
Each district of Laval has its own public library having books, of course, but also a myriad of reference tools, CD’s and repertory cinema DVD’s. Wireless internet access is available to all. Laval readers are particularly pampered because the new 2011 budget foresees the purchase of significant new material.
