Approximately 30% of the Laval territory is zoned agricultural of which 94% is dedicated to horticulture. As a result, the region is known as the capital of horticulture, producing ¼ of all the flowers sold in the Province. The agricultural lands of Laval are among the most fertile in Quebec, favouring what is known as “urban agriculture”. This is among the reasons why Laval is recognized to be a harmonious blend of urban and traditional lifestyles making Laval a…“city with a country feel”!
